1“The Godfather pt. II” (1974)
Starring: Robert DiNero, Al Pacino & Diane Keaton
This classic sequel of “The Godfather” follows a young Vito Coleone (DiNero) who is only a boy when he comes to the United States in the 1920s from Italy. At the same time the storyline picks up from the first film with Vito’s eldest son, Michael (Pacino), taking his father’s place but at the same time struggles between what is more important family or business.
2 “Goodfellas” (1990)
Starring: Robert DiNero, Joe Pesci & Ray Liotta
Based on the true story of Henry Hill (Liotta) an Irish-American who grew up in the rough part of New York City and turned gangster when taken under the city’s mod boss. Through the years he meets Tommy Devito (Pesci) a short-fused Italian and Jimmy Conway (DiNero) an older Irish made-man who together manage to pull off some of the biggest hijacking and robberies in American history. As soon as everything seems too perfect for the trio, things slowly begin to fall apart and long-time friends and company turn into their worst enemies.
3 “Analyze This” (1999)
Starring: Robert DiNero, Billy Crystal & Lisa Kudrow
Ben Sobol (Crystal) is a psychiatrist who is faced with a new kind of patient-doctor confidentiality when his latest client is a Don of the local mafia, Paul Vitti (DiNero.) With his wedding approaching, Ben has to tend to his high-maitnance and quite intimidating patient’s emotional needs while also trying to help his fiancé (Kudrow) get ready for their wedding that’s right around the corner. Ben becomes even more challenged with his patient especially since his usual clients don’t solve their problems with a gun.
4“The Untouchables” (1987)
Starring: Robert DiNero, Kevin Costner & Sean Connery
Based on the true story on the take down of Chicago’s most notorious gangster, Al Capone (DiNero.) Federal agent Eliot Ness (Costner) is assigned to clean up the streets of Chicago during Prohibition but will have no luck unless he arrests the ringleader, Capone. Ness soon realizes none of Chicago’s police officers and officials can be trusted and are being paid off by Capone and his men. With help from veteran-Irish police officer, Jim Malone (Connery) they hand-pick and assemble a small group of men that soon become known as “The Untouchables.”
5 “Casino” (1995)
Starring: Robert DiNero, Joe Pesci & Sharon Stone
Sam ‘Ace’ Rothstein (DiNero) is a gangster in charge of the Tangiers casino in Las Vegas during the 1970s. Ace falls in love with a beautiful hustler, Ginger (Stone), who he spoils and pampers with money and diamonds from the very beginning. As Ace begins to settle down with Ginger and keeping things in line at the hotel, his friend and fellow gangster, Nicky Santoro (Pesci), comes to Vegas and soon becomes the muscle behind Ace’s casino operations. Sam feels he has it all but soon his life is filled with drugs, greed, betrayal, lies and worst of all death.
