Texting can be tricky when you’re dealing with your crush. Do you text them as soon as parting ways or wait a few days? Once you do start texting do you respond quickly or let him/her wait for your response? Here are some tips.

Patience: Showing patience is a sign of maturity. Texting isn’t as important to most guys as it is to girls. So, if you text him and is slow to respond, play the game. It’s going to take a lot of restraint to not respond right away, but you can do it!

Text back only if he does. He needs to take the first step. If you text him first, it will always be on you. He’s the man, let him text you. Also, by letting him text you first, you know where you stand in his life.

If you haven’t heard from him all day and you decide to text him, only text him once. Do not continue texting him if doesn’t respond. It’s a sign he’s either not interested or too busy to talk. If and when he does respond wait a little while to respond or maybe accidentally forget every once and a while. Make him come running to you.

A shoulder to lean on: Texting your new fling about a problem with your co-worker will just confuse him. He doesn’t want to be a problem solver. Keep those things between you and your girl friends; at least until you two are official. Keep the conversation up-beat and drama free.

The most important part of texting is to be yourself. If you wouldn’t say something in person, don’t say it in a text message. But, texting is a great way to come out of your shell so the next time you two are alone you will be more comfortable.
