It’s the question of the century. Why did they cheat on me? That’s an easier question to answer than one of professor Barricks multiple choice tests. Either A.) You’re bored in your relationship, B.)You’re looking for a way out or C.) you just simply want to see if you can get away with it.
You’re bored in your relationship
You’ve been in a relationship for a few years now and the person you’re dating always looks the same. Old and dried up. Even when they get a new hair cut, buy a sexy new outfit or even role play in the bedroom, they’re still the same person. You’re stuck in a rut and you don’t know what to do. If this happens only after a few months in your relationship, get out as fast as you can! If you’re bored now, just imagine how much it’s going to suck a few years down the road. Save yourself the time and find someone who can keep you on your toes. Now, If you’ve been in a relationship for a few years and you find your tongue shamelessly in someone else’s mouth on the second floor patio of the Zephyr, well, you shouldn’t be in a relationship either. Chances are you’re not going to tell them and the guilt will slowly crumble your relationship. The best way to avoid this is to always keep your relationship fresh! Try new things! Go downtown and walk by the river, or try that new Zoupwerks place that everyone says sucks or just drive on 43 until you get lost in Ravenna. Or try out our Sex Positions Of The Week articles. Make your relationship an adventure and discover new things together.
You’re looking for a way out
This can come at any time in the relationship. There are an infinite amount of reasons why someone would want out of a relationship. Maybe they’re not the person you thought they were or you just aren’t interested anymore. You want to end things but you aren’t sure if it’s what you really want or how to do it. Then you hook up with a drunk hottie on the dancefloor at 157. You think your seeing everything in a whole new light, what it could be like to be single, the other people that are out there, and chances are they’re way hotter than who you’re dating. At this point, you’ll rationalize anything to get out of your relationship. But you should probably break things off first before whoring yourself around downtown. It’s the kind thing to do.
You want to see if you can get away with it
It’s the thrill, really. You’re sitting in a giant lecture hall taking a test on a Scantron and you glance at your neighbors' answer sheet and get the answer to tricky #7. No one catches you, you turn in your test and go about your day. It’s the same way with cheating on your lover. You’re at the bar with some friends, you make some sensual eye contact from across the bar or maybe have some small talk over at the peanut barrel at the Loft. Then your mind plots out how you’re going to get it in with your peanut buddy and still be able to kiss your girlfriend the next day. It’s a Thirsty Thursday a lot wilder than you planned, but you do it anyways and you have a blast! It feels like you’ve won the lottery, you’ve cheated and gotten away with it. IF that’s how you’re feeling, then you need to get hit by a Parta bus. No one deserves an asshole like you in their life.
Never, in any situation is cheating a good idea. Even if you're thinking about it, let alone doing it, you don’t deserve to be in a relationship. Someone is giving you the best of them, the least you can do is be faithful. Honesty is the key to any lasting relationship. And great sex, but mostly honesty.
