And let’s face it: No one wants complications when it comes to trying to achieve sex. When you want “it”, you want nothing to be standing in your way.

For those of you living on campus, however, finding ways to have sex in the dorms may be a bit challenging.

First, there is the roommate issue. Having your roomie present when you want to “get it on” can make for a major cockblock. Have no fear, though; there are many solutions to this obstacle. If possible, find a time when you know that your roommate won’t be in the dorm room. Once you have the dorm to yourself, tie something around the outside doorknob as a warning. If your roommate decides to come back early, they will see the tied doorknob and, presumably, take the hint.

If you cannot find a time where you have the dorm to yourself, you have two options.

Option one: find a new location.
Sometimes your dorm just isn’t meant to have sex in.

Option two:secret, quiet sex.
If you don’t mind sacrificing crazy, loud sex, then having sex that isn’t obvious to your roommate is also an option.

There is also the issue of the beds. Dorm room beds are definitely not sex-friendly. They are small, with awkward wooden framing, and don’t give you much of an option for easily switching positions. Lofted beds and bunk beds, especially, are not good for sex, and I wouldn’t recommend it. You and your partner won’t have nearly enough space. Make do with any bed that’s separate and closer to the floor. Keep in mind, though, you can get creative and work in other positions that don’t require the cramped twin bed.

Finally, there is the issue of an audience listening in on your sexual rendezvous. The dorm walls are paper-thin, so most noises can be heard by everyone else living around you. By having sex in the dorms, you run the risk of letting everyone know why you’re moaning so loud. My advice, do your best to contain yourself. Or, if you simply don’t care that others hear you, keep the moans coming. It won’t ruin your time, and others will get a giggle.

Overall, and in all honesty, the best sex is not going to be in the dorms. There is simply not enough space or freedom to have that hair-raising sex that you are looking for. Manage while you have to, but once you’re set free from the dorms, take advantage of having sex in a better-suited environment.
