The first date can be nerve racking. Will the other person think you’re attractive? Will he or she think you’re interesting? What are you going to talk about? And the obvious question: WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR? Well calm down and breathe because I am here to help!
Women:
Dress to impress. Most first dates aren’t going to be at some five-star restaurant. So don’t dress as if you’re walking down the red carpet. Option 1: Skinny jeans with an over-sized sweater will do. Finish it off with a cute pair of flats or heels [your choice].
Option 2: A dress with tights, boots and a hat.
Option 3: A casual shirt with a blazer, jeggings and boots. Over doing the outfit with trendy designers may throw him off. It is important to remember being you is the key. Therefore, DO NOT cake on the make up or wear something you do not feel comfortable in. If you are not wearing an outfit that is you, chances are you won’t be acting like you. Do not wear anything strapless, low cut or spaghetti straps. The guy won’t be focusing on you. He will be focusing on your chest or even worse, you could have an awkward mishap.
Men:
Although some women may deny it, the simple truth is that your appearance is a big factor when if comes to finding you attractive or not. So, don’t ruin your chance by wearing ripped jeans, an old t-shirt and please, tuck your shirt in! Option 1: A button-up with khaki pants, leather belt and a casual shoe. [NO beat up tennis shoes.]
Option 2: A button-up with a sports jacket, dark-wash jeans and black leather shoes. According to www.artofmanliness.com, a sports jacket will square lines in the face, broaden shoulders, and allude to a muscular chest and smaller stomach than upper torso. Women are subconsciously attracted to these features.
Option 3: Grab your favorite polo, khaki pants, brown/black leather shoes, belt and your set!
It is just as important to wear something you are comfortable in, because like women, if you’re not comfortable, you won’t be acting like you. Contact Monique Zappa at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
